Vontier Field Marketing Executive in Basildon, United Kingdom

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Marketing function for a Field Marketing Executive. You will be spearhead our owned and paid events across Europe, playing a pivotal role in enhancing Gilbarco Veeder-Root's brand awareness and generating qualified leads through meticulously planned and executed exhibitions, summits, webinars, and other regional marketing activities. This role demands a blend of creativity, analytical prowess, and a customer-centric approach to driving brand awareness, engagement and commercial opportunities. European Travel will be required; this will fluctuate over the year but will represent approximately 20-40% of total hours. The role is Hybrid/Remote, our UK Head Office is in Basildon, Essex and will require some time spent there quarterly.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning : Working closely with the Marketing Communications Manager(s) and the Head of Marketing Communications, develop and implement a comprehensive event marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives in Europe. This includes selecting and executing the right mix of exhibitions, summits, webinars, and other field activities to maximise reach, engagement, and impact.

Event Management :

  • Lead the end-to-end management of events, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring each event is delivered on time, within budget, and exceeds expected quality standards.

  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Distribution teams to identify, plan and execute other regional events as requirede.g. roadshows, open days and conferences.

  • Identify and shortlist suppliers. Organize supplier business pitches.

  • Work with suppliers and event organizers to deliver events successfully and safely within the defined budget.

Customer Engagement: Conduct pre- and post-event customer engagement activities, such as follow-up surveys, thank-you emails, and personalized content to nurture leads.

Digital Marketing Integration : Work closely with your digital marketing colleagues on efforts such as social media campaigns, email marketing, and online event promotion to ensure an integrated approach to field marketing.

Lead Generation : Drive the acquisition of high-quality leads through field activities, working closely with your colleagues in sales and business development to ensure seamless follow-up and conversion.

Brand Awareness : Elevate Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s brand presence in the European market through strategic, localised marketing efforts. Measure success through aided and unaided awareness tests, press mentions, and social media engagement.

Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive brand messaging and the successful delivery of events.

Market Intelligence : Stay abreast of industry trends in key regions (Nordics, Iberia, Italy, DACH, etc), competitor activities, and market needs to inform strategy adjustments and innovative event approaches.

Budget Management : Oversee and manage the budget for field marketing activities, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum return on investment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Events Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience/ knowledge

  • Experience in the planning and execution of events, trade shows and/or conferences, and webinars.

  • Experience in managing agency and vendor relationships, especially on the creation of marketing materials

  • Previous experience managing projects and driving change.

  • Track record of process improvement to drive ROI and market visibility.

  • Fluency in English

  • Familiarity with the concept and practice of “experience management” for large brands, including interactive experiences in AR/VR.

  • Experience in an industrial multinational company.

  • Familiarity with international industrial B2B markets such as automotive, weighing, measuring, oil & petroleum/petrochemical.

  • Experience in marketing of industrial equipment (hydraulics, electronics, software).

  • Fluency in multiple languages, e.g. German.

  • Awareness of modern Go-to-Market strategies and techniques, including demand generation, account-based marketing, and more.

Travel

  • Willingness/eagerness to travel to beautiful locations across Europe, including Florence, Hamburg, Barcelona, and much more, for approximately 20-40% of total allocation.
