About the role

As a Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Cloud-Solutions team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a multi-tenanted cloud solution that allows remote management of fuel pump payment terminals. This role is involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions and continuously improve our development processes. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Software Development: Collaborate on requirements, create technical plans, ensure defect-free feature delivery, compile effort estimates, ensure security compliance, and maintain documentation. Act as a subject matter expert and track all work accurately.

  • Software Documentation: Produce and maintain release and API documentation. Use issue tracking systems and ensure version control.

  • Software Testing: Implement unit tests, enhance test coverage, and coordinate with the test team. Enable automated API and UI testing.

  • Addressing Technical Debt: Document and address technical debt, keeping dependencies up to date.

  • Supporting Stakeholders: Suggest process improvements, support DevOps for successful deployments, maintain system uptime, and set up monitoring dashboards.

Key parts of this role are, delivering high-quality software solutions, ensure robust testing, maintain documentation, and support continuous process improvements.

About you

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience. With 3-5+ years of software development experience, you have a strong background in:

  • RESTful API frameworks (Node.js or .NET)

  • SPA frameworks (React)

  • Relational SQL databases (Postgres or SQL Server)

  • Unit, API, and UI automation frameworks

  • Git

  • Asynchronous programming techniques

  • Writing secure, modular, maintainable, and testable code

You have hands-on experience in Production support and demonstrate clear design-to-code implementation techniques. Your excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships set you apart. You are also willing to travel as needed.

Additionally, knowledge of

  • React

  • Node.js or .NET

  • AWS

  • PostgreSQL

  • Typescript

is highly desirable.
